Easy Stromboli Recipe

This easy Stromboli recipe is a 30-minute meal that the whole family will go crazy for! With just a few simple ingredients, it’s great for meal prep and totally freezer-friendly.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough (enough for 1 pizza)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ⅓ cup marinara sauce
  • ½ cup chopped cooked ham
  • ½ cup sliced salami
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12″x16″ rectangle.
  3. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1″ border all around and a 2–3″ gap at the far long edge.
  4. Layer with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, then add ham, salami, and pepperoni. Top with the remaining ½ cup mozzarella.
  5. Roll the dough up tightly, stopping just before the edge.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, water, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Brush the egg wash over the dough seam, then pinch to seal.
  7. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush the top with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Notes & Tips

  • Want a vegetarian version? Skip the meat and fill it with sautéed veggies like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
  • Make it ahead: Assemble and refrigerate unbaked Stromboli for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed.
  • Freezer tip: Wrap baked Stromboli tightly in foil and freeze. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
