Ingredients
Scale as needed: 1x | 2x | 3x
-
4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 3 large sweet potatoes)
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1/2 cup milk
-
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pecan Crumble Topping:
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and chopped pecans to form the crumble topping. Sprinkle the pecan crumble evenly over the sweet potato mixture. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is set. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
You can prepare the sweet potato base ahead and refrigerate, adding the topping just before baking. Use canned sweet potatoes as a shortcut—just drain and mash well. Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth in flavor.
