Description

A juicy grilled BBQ burger layered with smoky barbecue sauce, melted cheese, and crispy onions, perfect for summer cookouts and backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup barbecue sauce

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 1 cup crispy fried onions

  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles

Instructions

Preheat grill to medium-high heat. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 4 equal patties. Grill patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Brush each patty with barbecue sauce during the last minute of grilling, then top with a slice of cheddar cheese and let melt. Toast buns on the grill if desired. Assemble burgers by placing patties on buns, then topping with crispy fried onions and any optional toppings. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for accuracy—160°F for well-done burgers. Swap cheddar for pepper jack for extra heat. Crispy fried onions add texture and flavor—store-bought or homemade.
