Description
BBQ Chicken Pizza is a flavorful twist on a classic, featuring tender chicken, tangy barbecue sauce, melty cheese, and red onion on a crispy crust. Perfect for pizza night with a smoky-sweet kick.
Ingredients
-
1 ball pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
-
½ cup barbecue sauce
-
1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
-
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
-
Olive oil for brushing
-
Cornmeal or flour for dusting
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
-
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a pizza peel or baking sheet dusted with cornmeal.
-
Brush the dough lightly with olive oil. Spread barbecue sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
-
Top with cooked chicken, mozzarella, cheddar, and red onion.
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
-
Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh cilantro if using. Slice and serve hot.
Notes
-
Use smoked gouda or Monterey Jack for a flavor variation.
-
Leftover rotisserie chicken works great in this recipe.
-
For extra crispiness, bake on a preheated pizza stone or steel.
