Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Resting Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 55 minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups Oreo cookies, roughly crushed

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the chocolate chips and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the white sugar and brown sugar. Whisk until well combined.
Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth and slightly fluffy. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until fully combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually sift in the flour and cocoa powder. Fold gently until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
Add Oreos: Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8″x8″ baking dish with parchment paper.
Pour and Top: Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Top with extra chocolate chips and more crushed Oreos if desired.
Bake: Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (for fudgy brownies) or clean (for cakier brownies).
Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes. Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Fudgy or Cakey: For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake them (about 28–30 minutes). For firmer brownies, bake for 32–35 minutes.
Oreo Texture: Use regular Oreos for best crunch. Avoid double-stuffed if you want a crispier bite.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Freezing: Brownies can be frozen for up to 2 months. Wrap tightly and thaw at room temperature.
Serving Tip: Warm slices briefly in the microwave and top with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
