Ingredients
-
1 (16 oz) package Hawaiian rolls (12-count)
-
1 lb deli turkey, thinly sliced
-
1 cup cranberry sauce (jellied or whole berry)
-
6 slices Havarti or provolone cheese
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
-
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
-
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
-
2 teaspoons minced dried onion
-
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
-
2 teaspoons fresh minced chives
-
Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom halves into the prepared baking dish.
Layer with the sliced turkey. Evenly spread the cranberry sauce over the turkey. Add a single layer of Havarti or provolone cheese. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried onion, poppy seeds, and minced chives. Stir well.
Generously brush the seasoned butter over the tops of the rolls. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until warmed through and cheese is melted. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
Serve immediately while hot and melty. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
-
Make-Ahead Tip: You can assemble the sliders up to 4 hours in advance. Cover and refrigerate, then bake as directed just before serving.
-
Leftover Turkey Option: These sliders are a great way to use up leftover Thanksgiving turkey. Just shred or slice and use in place of deli turkey.
-
Cheese Swaps: Havarti melts beautifully, but Swiss, provolone, or mozzarella also work well here.
-
Roll Alternatives: Hawaiian rolls add a slight sweetness that complements the cranberry sauce, but any soft dinner rolls will do in a pinch.
-
Customize the Sauce: Mix a spoonful of Dijon into the cranberry sauce for a sweet-tangy twist.
-
Serving Suggestion: These sliders are best served warm. Pair with sweet potato fries, a crisp salad, or even a light soup for a complete meal.
-
Storage: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a low oven or toaster oven to re-crisp the tops.
