Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

1.5 lbs chicken wings, skin on
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons tamari sauce
2 tablespoons honey
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons spring onion, finely chopped

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper for easy cleanup. In a container, combine the chicken wings with all the ingredients, except the spring onion. Secure the lid tightly and shake the container to ensure the wings are evenly coated in the marinade. Let them sit and marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to fully absorb. Once marinated, spread the wings on the prepared baking tray, ensuring they are skin-side up for optimal crispiness. Pour any remaining marinade over the wings. Bake for 25–35 minutes, or until the wings are beautifully caramelized, golden brown, and slightly crispy around the edges. Transfer the wings to a serving plate, sprinkle with freshly chopped spring onion for a burst of freshness, and enjoy!

Notes

• For even crispier wings, broil them on high for the last 2–3 minutes of baking.
• Tamari adds depth, but you can use all soy sauce if needed.
• Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving to allow juices to settle.
• These pair well with steamed rice or a crunchy slaw for a full meal.
