Ingredients

- 3 cups thinly sliced, peeled potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
- ½ cup milk
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. - Prepare Potatoes
In a large bowl, toss sliced potatoes with melted butter and ½ teaspoon salt until evenly coated. - Line Casserole Dish
Arrange the potatoes in the bottom and up the sides of the prepared dish, overlapping slightly to form a base crust. - Bake Potatoes
Bake in the preheated oven until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 20 to 30 minutes. - Cook Ground Beef
While the potatoes bake, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, stirring, until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease. - Make Beef Mixture
In a bowl, combine the cooked beef with the cream of mushroom soup, ¾ cup Cheddar cheese, and milk. Season with salt and pepper, and stir until well blended. - Assemble & Bake
Pour the beef mixture over the baked potatoes. Return to the oven and bake for 15 minutes, until heated through. - Add Final Cheese Layer
Sprinkle the remaining ¾ cup of Cheddar cheese over the top. Bake an additional 4 to 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Cool Slightly & Serve
