Easy Gochujang Broccoli

  • Author: baking
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: Servings: 2–3

Description

This quick and flavorful side dish adds a bold, spicy kick to any meal. Tender steamed broccoli is tossed in a savory-sweet gochujang glaze and finished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for crunch and balance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets

  • 2 tbsp gochujang

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  • Steam the broccoli:
Steam broccoli florets for 5–7 minutes, or until just tender but still vibrant green.

  • Make the sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, and water until smooth.

  • Combine:
Toss the hot, steamed broccoli in the sauce until evenly coated.

  • Serve:
Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra depth, add a splash of rice vinegar or a pinch of brown sugar to the sauce.

  • To char the broccoli slightly, steam it for less time, then pan-sear or broil it for a few minutes before saucing.
