Easy Gochujang Broccoli

This quick and flavorful side dish adds a bold, spicy kick to any meal. Tender steamed broccoli is tossed in a savory-sweet gochujang glaze and finished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for crunch and balance.

Ingredients

  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steam the broccoli:
    Steam broccoli florets for 5–7 minutes, or until just tender but still vibrant green.
  2. Make the sauce:
    In a small bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, and water until smooth.
  3. Combine:
    Toss the hot, steamed broccoli in the sauce until evenly coated.
  4. Serve:
    Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Tips

  • For extra depth, add a splash of rice vinegar or a pinch of brown sugar to the sauce.
  • To char the broccoli slightly, steam it for less time, then pan-sear or broil it for a few minutes before saucing.
