Description

Turn pizza dough into these quick and easy Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks in just 20 minutes. Baked to golden perfection and topped with garlic, Italian seasoning, and plenty of melty cheese, they’re the ultimate side dish or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Homemade Pizza Crust (store-bought or homemade)

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil (or as needed to coat baking sheet)

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, divided

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven
    Move the oven rack to the lowest position and preheat to 500°F (260°C).

  • Roll the Dough
    Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cutting board or work surface.
    Lightly flour the parchment and place the pizza dough in the center. Roll it out into a 14 x 10-inch rectangle using a rolling pin, shaping with hands as needed.

  • Prepare Baking Sheet
    Drizzle a large rimmed baking sheet with olive oil and spread it with your hands.
    Gently peel the dough off the parchment and transfer it to the baking sheet. Press it back into a 14 x 10-inch shape.

  • Add Butter and Garlic
    In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and minced garlic. Spread the mixture evenly over the dough using a spoon or brush.

  • Add Seasonings and Cheese
    Sprinkle with ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning, salt, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
    Finish with the remaining ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning sprinkled on top of the cheese.

  • Bake
    Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

 

  • Slice and Serve
    Let rest for 1–2 minutes. Use a pizza cutter to slice into 18 breadsticks (cut 6 strips lengthwise and 3 crosswise).


Notes

  • Make it spicy: Add crushed red pepper flakes before baking.

  • Add herbs: Use fresh chopped parsley or basil for garnish.

  • Dip ideas: Marinara, ranch, garlic butter, or pesto all pair perfectly.

 

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
