Description

A mouth-watering salad packed with crisp veggies and tender, flavorful honey hot chicken. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and diced

  • ¼ cup honey garlic sauce

  • ¼ cup buffalo wing sauce (or plain hot sauce, such as Frank’s Red Hot)

For the Salad:

  • 2 heads Romaine lettuce, chopped and washed

  • 36 tablespoons ranch dressing or dressing of choice

  • ½ medium red onion, diced

  • 1 large red bell pepper, diced

  • ½ large cucumber, diced

  • Shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken:
In a small bowl, toss the diced cooked chicken with the honey garlic sauce and buffalo wing sauce until evenly coated.

  • Assemble the Salad Base:
In a large bowl, combine the chopped Romaine with your choice of dressing and toss to coat.

  • Build the Salad:
Divide the dressed Romaine between two plates or bowls. Top with diced red onion, bell pepper, cucumber, optional shredded cheese, and the honey hot chicken.

  • Serve Immediately:
Enjoy fresh for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use any kind of cooked chicken: grilled, shredded rotisserie, thighs, or even leftover turkey.

  • For a vegan version, substitute crispy tofu for the chicken, use a plant-based dressing, and omit the cheese.

  • This salad is best served immediately after assembling. To make ahead, store components separately and assemble just before eating.

  • Adjust the spiciness by increasing or decreasing the amount of hot sauce used.

  • Not a fan of honey garlic? Swap in homemade teriyaki sauce for a flavorful twist.

  • Try using this mixture as a filling for wraps or hoagie rolls for a hearty sandwich.
