Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken with Green Beans

This Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken is a quick and easy weeknight meal — perfect for back-to-school season and busy evenings! Juicy chicken thighs and drumsticks are marinated in a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce, then grilled alongside fresh green beans for a complete and satisfying dinner.

Prep Time: 4 hours
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

For the Sauce/Marinade

  • ¼ cup (85g) honey
  • 3 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard (smooth)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Rest of the Dish

  • 1–1½ pounds (454–680g) chicken thighs and drumsticks combo (Farmer Focus or similar)
  • ¾ pound (340g) green beans

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, whole-grain mustard, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.

Place the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, seal the bag, and massage it to evenly coat the chicken. Refrigerate for 4 hours or longer if needed.

When ready to cook, preheat your outdoor grill to high heat.

Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill until cooked through, about 15 minutes, turning as needed. (Chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF.)

After removing the chicken, place the green beans into the same marinade bag, seal, and shake to coat them in the remaining sauce.

Grill the green beans on a vegetable grate or cook them in a skillet until tender and slightly charred.

Serve the chicken and green beans together. Feel free to make extra sauce for topping or dipping!

Notes

  • No grill? No problem! You can easily cook the chicken and green beans on a stovetop skillet or bake them in the oven.
  • Adjust salt and pepper based on your taste preference.
  • For a thicker dipping sauce, double the marinade recipe and reserve half before marinating the chicken.
