Description

Sweet, savory, and unbelievably tender—this slow cooker ham is a holiday hero. Made with just a few simple ingredients, it comes together with almost no effort but all the wow-factor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 lb spiral-cut ham (fully cooked, bone-in or boneless)

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup (avoid pancake syrup)

  • 1 cup pineapple juice

  • Cooking spray

Optional Garnish:

  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley)

Instructions

  • Spray a 7–8 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Place the ham cut side down into the crock pot.

  • Rub brown sugar all over the surface of the ham.

  • Pour the maple syrup and pineapple juice evenly over the ham.

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) in the thickest part.

  • Transfer ham to a serving platter and tent with foil.

  • Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.

  • Simmer for 6–8 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

Optional: For a thicker glaze, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water, then whisk into the simmering sauce.

  • Pour the glaze over the ham. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Spiral hams are precooked—you’re simply warming and flavoring it.

  • Cooking on LOW helps retain moisture. Avoid HIGH heat.

  • The glaze is optional, but highly recommended for extra flavor and a beautiful finish.
