Ingredients

8 lb spiral-cut ham (fully cooked, bone-in or boneless)

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup pure maple syrup (avoid pancake syrup)

1 cup pineapple juice

Cooking spray

Optional Garnish:

Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley)

Instructions

Spray a 7–8 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

Place the ham cut side down into the crock pot.

Rub brown sugar all over the surface of the ham.

Pour the maple syrup and pineapple juice evenly over the ham.

Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C) in the thickest part.

Transfer ham to a serving platter and tent with foil.

Pour the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.

Simmer for 6–8 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

Optional: For a thicker glaze, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water, then whisk into the simmering sauce.

Pour the glaze over the ham. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Slice and serve.

Notes

Spiral hams are precooked—you’re simply warming and flavoring it.

Cooking on LOW helps retain moisture. Avoid HIGH heat.

The glaze is optional, but highly recommended for extra flavor and a beautiful finish.

Tips & Variations

Add 1 tbsp orange zest for a citrusy brightness.

Toss in whole cloves or star anise for a subtle spiced holiday aroma.

Leftovers are perfect for sandwiches, breakfast scrambles, or soup.

Storage & Reheating

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Reheat in the microwave or oven (covered at 300°F) with a splash of glaze or broth.

Freeze up to 2 months. Slice before freezing for easy portions.
